5月27日开始，到现在大概收获了15.6K Presentations、190 Views、43 Reads，还有3位关注者和3位订阅者。这些数据不算多，但对我来说，最有意思的反而不是数据本身。

刚开始写的时候，我最大的担忧其实不是阅读量。而是英语不是母语，担心表达不够准确，担心别人读起来奇怪，也担心自己那些关于流浪猫、咖啡和生活的故事太普通。后来发现，这些担忧似乎都没有发生，至少目前没有。

以前写公众号，大多数读者都是中文用户，很多背景、文化和成长经历其实都比较接近。这次把过去写过的一些随笔重新用英语表达出来，原本只是想练习一下英语写作，顺便看看会发生什么，后来发生的事情有点出乎意料。

有位来自印尼的读者读完流浪猫的故事后留言：

“ There is a quiet dignity in how stray cats navigate a world not built for them… You don’t have to understand the entire universe today; simply focus on taking your next step from where you stand. Beautifully written. ”

大意是说，流浪猫在不属于自己的世界里努力生存的样子，让他想到了自己正在数字时代寻找道路的过程。没必要今天就理解整个宇宙，只需要走好下一步。

看到这条评论的时候，我愣了一下，因为那篇文章写的只是小公园里遇到的一只流浪猫。

我回复说：

“ I never expected a story about a stray cat in a small park would resonate with someone on the other side of the world. ”

确实如此，写的时候从来没想过，一个发生在身边的小故事，会被地球另一边的人读到，并产生共鸣。

还有一位出版过书籍的作者留言：

“ Thank you so much for your beautiful story… You have also inspired me to write about the cats. ”

她和我分享了自己照顾流浪猫妈妈和三只小猫的经历，并说这篇文章让她也想写点什么。

我回复她：

“ When I first started writing, I thought I was simply writing about a few stray cats. By the end, I realized they were only part of the story. ”

后来回头看，我自己也觉得有点好笑。写的时候以为是在写猫，写完才发现其实是在写自己，猫只是一个入口而已。

还有一位读者留言：

“ It definitely resonated with me but in my own life… What a way to end the story. ”

我回复对方：

“ That was actually what I hoped for when writing it—not that people would see my story, but that it might remind them of something in their own lives. ”

这也是最近慢慢体会到的一件事情，以前总觉得写作是在表达自己。后来发现，写作更有意思的地方，可能不是别人看见了你的故事，而是别人透过你的故事，想起了自己的经历。

过去这些年，无论工作还是学习，我做的大多数事情都有明确目标。学习技术、通过考试、解决问题、提升能力。但写作好像不太一样，它没有标准答案，也没有明确回报，可它让我体验到了一种以前从未体验过的事情。

一个中国的安全从业者，一个印尼读者，一位出版过书籍的作者，还有一些从未谋面的陌生人，大家因为一只流浪猫短暂地产生了连接。

以前总觉得互联网让人与人越来越远，最近反而觉得，它偶尔也会把一些原本永远不会相遇的人联系在一起。这种体验，还挺特别的。

And yes… sometimes the ending isn’t really an ending. It’s just a different way of seeing what was there all along.
